Roaches, rat droppings, mold: North Texas restaurant inspections for June 2025
Here’s a roundup of Tarrant County health inspections for restaurants over the past month, as previously reported in the Star-Telegram.
Tarrant County health inspections function on a 100-point system: a score of 100 is considered perfect and a score of 70 is considered extremely poor. They recently transitioned from the demerit-based score system.
June included restaurants with excessive roaches, rat droppings and one spot with five gambling machines.
Fort Worth area
One report in Fort Worth for the month of June included five gambling machines in Save More Beer and Wine at 2723 Azle Ave.
Taqueria Estilo Guanajuato at 3013 W. Fuller Ave., Uncle Julio’s Mexican From Scratch at 9201 North Freeway, Sabor Venezolano at 8506 Robbins Drive and The Best Hot Dog at 17 Davis Road in Crowley were temporarily closed due to a lack of hot water.
Spring To Health Apothecary at 900 S. Main St. in Keller temporarily closed to fix a clogged floor drain in the kitchen.
Love And Grace Childcare at 510 N. Race St. in Everman was found to have mice droppings in the pantry.

Arlington
Dickey’s Barbecue was found to have a roach infestation and use of restricted pesticides which forced them to shut down. Mis Tragos Bar & Grill at 1606 New York Ave. was closed due to roach infestation and poor sanitary conditions.

Three restaurants that failed inspections include Vidorra at 2642 Main St., Senda Del Sabor at 10118 Garland Road, and Chip’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers at 1605 North Beckley Ave.

Plano
The Great Wall of China at 901 W. Plano Parkway was cited for mold in an ice machine. Lita’s La Mexicana at 7224 Independence Parkway was closed for roaches in the kitchen and was re-opened after a follow-up inspection. Tortas Gigantes Perez USA at 2405 E. Plano Parkway and Seay Child Care Center at 6100 W. Parker Road had roach-related violations.
