Roach activity observed, low scores reported in Plano restaurant inspections

Roach activity was observed at two Plano restaurants and nine others had low scores in the latest round of city health inspections, according to the inspection report.

The report, compiled by the Star-Telegram, contains data from June 1 to June 14 and 180 inspections.

Plano’s restaurant inspections function on a 100-point system: A score of 100 is considered perfect and a score of 70 is considered extremely poor.

Nine food establishments had scores below 80:

  1. La Popular Panaderia, 2504 K Ave., had a score of 65
  2. Cafe De Khan, 2040 W. Spring Creek Parkway, had a score of 68
  3. Tacos Y Tortas El Viejon, 4100 East Park Blvd., had a score of 69
  4. Restaurante Corazon Latino, 1828 K Ave., had a score of 72
  5. Bawarchi Biryanis Indian Cuisine - Express, 8201 Ohio Drive, had a score of 73
  6. Bawarchi Indian Cuisine, 8201 Ohio Drive, had a score of 77
  7. La Hechizera Tortas, 1120 E. Parker Road, had a score of 77
  8. Chen’s Restaurant, 2220 Coit Road, had a score of 79

Two restaurants had roach-related violations:

  1. Tortas Gigantes Perez USA, 2405 E. Plano Parkway, had a score of 87
  2. Seay Child Care Center, 6100 W. Parker Road, had a score of 94
