Four restaurants closed, two fail in latest Arlington health inspections

Four Arlington restaurants were temporarily closed and two failed in the most recent round of city health inspections.

The reports compiled by the Star-Telegram contain city data from May 18-May 31 and 212 inspections. Arlington’s restaurant inspections function on a 100-point system: A score of 100 is considered perfect and a score of 70 is considered extremely poor.

Four restaurants were closed by the city:

  1. Mis Tragos Bar & Grill, at 1606 New York Ave., was inspected twice. Its kitchen and restaurant inspection had a score of 63, and its bar scored 80. The restaurant was closed due to health violations including a rodent infestation and unsanitary conditions, a city spokesperson said. Mis Tragos Bar & Grill was reopened after a later inspection, according to the inspection report.
  2. Vina Cafe, at 2232 S. Collins St., was inspected twice and did not have a score. The restaurant was closed due to unsanitary conditions and a failed fire inspection, a city spokesperson said.
  3. #1 Food Store, at 312 S. Watson Road, did not have a score. The restaurant was closed because it lacked a certificate of occupancy from the city, the spokesperson said.
  4. Lupita’s Coqueta Taqueria, at 312 S. Watson Road, did not have a score. The restaurant was closed because it lacked a certificate of occupancy from the city, the spokesperson said.

Two restaurants failed inspections.

  1. Chicas Locas Arlington, at 2711 Majesty Drive, was inspected twice. Its bar had a score of 64 and its kitchen and restaurant had a score of 66.
  2. Annampuram Authentic South Indian Restaurant, at 1201 S. Cooper St., had a score of 68.
