Restaurant closes after Tarrant health inspection. Others had roaches, droppings
One Tarrant County restaurant was temporarily closed, and roaches were seen at two places to eat in the latest round of health inspections, according to the inspection reports.
Tarrant County Public Health inspects and scores all restaurants in Tarrant County except for those located in Fort Worth, Arlington, Euless and North Richland Hills.
The county recently transitioned to a new inspection format, which aligns with recent updates to the Food Code. The old demerit-based score system has been replaced by a scoring method where demerits are subtracted from a starting score of 100. A score of 100 is a perfect score, and 70 is considered to be extremely poor.
The reports complied by the Star-Telegram contain data and health violations from June 22-June 28 and the results of 150 inspections.
The Best Hot Dog, 17 Davis Road in Crowley had a score of 85 but temporarily closed due to lack of hot water and was told to contact TCPH for reopening.
Roaches were found at two restaurants:
- Kebab And Gyro House, 7171 Colleyville Blvd. 109 in Colleyville. Score: 79
- Lonestar Antiques Tea Room, 5605 Denton Highway in Haltom City. Score: 90
One business had issues with rodent droppings:
- Love And Grace Childcare, 510 N. Race St. in Everman. Score: 93. The inspector observed mice droppings on the floor of a pantry. A pest control company has recently treated for mice. Corrective actions: Ensure to have pest control company treat for mice/rats. Close off any points of entry for mice. Inspector will return to check on progress.
