If you can’t make it out to New Orleans for the Chiefs vs. Eagles in the Super Bowl, Fort Worth has a NOLA-inspired bar that would be perfect for a watch party.

My guess is you’re in the same boat as me. I unfortunately couldn’t swing spending $3,152 on the cheapest Super Bowl ticket — and that’s down from last year, according to Forbes. But I can spare some moolah for good drinks while watching the big game.

Well, I have good news for you. I can score you a Super Bowl ticket, in Fort Worth, for $25 at the most.

Home away from NOLA

Tulane’s Fort Worth is located in the Foundry District, tucked behind the Target in Montgomery Plaza. The surrounding area is also crawling with funky breweries so you can easily bar hop. Parking is ample and free, but since the Super Bowl lasts around four hours, I would suggest Ubering.

My friend and I went on a Tuesday night to check things out. For the middle of the week at 5:30 p.m., this place was bustlin’. The inside is decked out with green and purple beads, voodoo masks and gold fleurs-de-lis. It’s a perfect place to celebrate the New Orleans game without traveling there.

Their happy hour is from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and they start serving pizza by the slice at 6 p.m. In true Louisiana spirit, they serve gumbo Thursdays through Saturday while supplies last.

I started with one of my favorites, a “French 75.” This cocktail is gin, lemon juice and simple syrup topped with prosecco. This cost me $9 at happy hour, though their “signature cocktails” would be $10-$11 normally.

As for their “barrel aged cocktails” (dark-colored liquor: bourbon, whiskey, reposado tequila, etc.), those are $9 a pop, $8 during happy hour. They also have “batched cocktails,” which are essentially super-fancy shots for $6, and $5 during happy hour.

Since we arrived before 6 p.m., we had to enjoy our drinks before ordering a slice of pizza. The food portion of the menu is pretty extensive for a bar. And the pizza was mouth-wateringly delicious.

Pizza and wine on a budget

Pizza by the slice (the slice is bigger than a Costco pizza slice) ranges from $4 to $11. I went with the $5 pepperoni slice. This put our total so far at $14.

I ended the night with their house sauvignon blanc for $8 a glass. They also offer bottles for $25. The wine choices include cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir, pinot grigio and chardonnay.

Between the signature cocktail, pizza slice and glass of wine, my total rang up to exactly $22. This left me $3 for a tip, spending our full $25 budget.

For Super Bowl Sunday, Tulane’s will, of course, have the game on TV. Every Sunday, Tulane’s also offer seltzers for $3 all day long. The game kicks off at 5:30 p.m. CST on Feb. 9.

You can visit Tulane’s at 2708 Weisenberger St. They are open daily from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. Happy hour is from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and food is served starting at 6 p.m.

What Fort Worth places are you curious about? Is there a restaurant that you have been dying to try? Or an experience for you and your family?
