How To Celebrate the Fourth of July in Fort Worth This Year
Expand All
It’s that time of the year again, where we celebrate the Fourth of July by shooting off some fireworks.
In Texas, fireworks are legally allowed to be sold from June 24 up until July 4. There are several stands around the outskirts of Fort Worth and Dallas– but which are the cheapest?
What types of fireworks can you get for under $20?
The types of fireworks within our budget are:
Sparklers: A handheld firework that showers sparks when lit.
Roman Candles: A long, handheld tube that shoots out colorful sparks once ignited.
Artillery Shells: Individual shells loaded into a canister that shoot out colorful stars and sparks when ignited. You light this firework on flat ground (never in your hands), and then take several steps back for when it explodes.
Crackers: These make more noise than they do sparks. They make a loud, cracking sound when used.
Fountains: A ground-based firework that explode a stream of color sparks and flames, sometimes accompanied by screeching noise. Stand back after lighting.
Are fireworks more expensive this year?
The U.S. imports 99 percent of its consumer fireworks from China, according to the American Pyrotechnics Association. That could push up prices at fireworks stands this year, as a tit-for-tat trade between the U.S. and China have pushed up import taxes.
“[Price hikes] will depend on whether the retailer got their product here prior to the tariff hikes and if not, how much can they absorb versus what do they need to pass on to the consumer,” American Pyrotechnics Association executive director Julie Heckman said in an interview with CBS news.
Tariffs got as high as 145% on tariffs from China in May. If retailers bought their shipments during that time, they could be looking to pass on those costs to consumers.
Where can I get $20 and under fireworks in Fort Worth?
Now I’m going to tell you about the best spot to get fireworks closest to Fort Worth. FM 1187 between I-35 and I-287 in Burleson has a mix of small mom-and-pop shops and the big gun corporations.
Nearly every stand will have prices from $2 up to $1,500. Because of the prices and the robust selection of firework options, it’s hard to narrow down a stand that is “the cheapest.” But I spent a day visiting them this week and speaking with the owners, and have narrowed down a few trustworthy options.
Oh, and just note that every fireworks stand on this Burleson stretch of road will tell you that they have the cheapest prices.
Here are my top three options and why:
1. Burleson Fireworks Farm
Location: 3540 E FM 1187, Burleson
Prices: They will price match (so in my opinion, this is the cheapest stand).
They also sell “Lucky Brand” fireworks that they manufacture themselves.
Hours: Open Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday from noon to 8 p.m.; Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
/
2. Dino Fireworks
Location: 4568 FM 1187 D, Burleson and also 7494 Rendon Bloodworth Rd, Mansfield
Prices: Prices have remained the same from pre-Covid,with no tariff impacts.
Hours: Open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to midnight.
3. Fireworks Supermarket
Location: 3580 FM 1187, Burleson
Prices: Fireworks Supermarket offers a free firework program (which does not apply to the $20 budget, but the more you spend, the more money you get back in “free” fireworks). This shop has the largest selection of fireworks out of all the places I visited (they have all brands, including Black Cat), and this also has no tariff impacts.
Hours: Open everyday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Other fireworks options in Fort Worth:

Prices: See their full catalog online before visiting in person to see if they have what you want — they have a big selection
Hours: Open everyday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. On July 3 and 4, from 8 a.m. until midnight.
Location: 8000 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth or 8968 Tehama Ridge Pkwy, Fort Worth
Prices: WinCo has the cheapest selection of Fourth of July cookout items, and also sells sparklers, poppers and confetti cannons
