Sundance Square expects anywhere between 40,000 to 50,000 people for its annual New Year’s Eve celebration this year.

The event, which Sundance calls the largest in-person New Year’s Eve celebration in Texas, is taking place at 6 p.m. on Dec. 31. Last year’s event drew over 33,000 celebrators to downtown Fort Worth.

Is the New Year’s Eve celebration free?

Yes, the New Year’s Eve celebration is free to attend.

What activities are planned for New Year’s Eve?

A slew of activities are set, including live music, food trucks, bar stations and more.

Entertainers such as jugglers, stilt walkers, trick ropers, aerialists and mimes are all set to perform in the plaza. Sundance Square’s 82-foot Norway Spruce Christmas tree will also still be up at the New Year’s Eve celebration.

The fireworks show will begin at midnight to ring in 2025, according to the organization.

Who is performing at New Year’s Eve?

Several North Texas favorites are performing at this year’s celebration.

Fort Worth musicians Abraham Alexander and Gregory Newman are co-emceeing the event. Alexander is a singer-songwriter that released his first album in 2023, while Newman is a jazz trumpeter and music director at Sundance.

Other performers set for the celebration include: The Special Edition Band, Havana NRG and DJ Danny West.

Is free parking available in downtown Fort Worth?

Yes, there a few garages around downtown that will have free parking after 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve:

  • City Center Garage #2- 401 Calhoun St.
  • The Tower Garage- 435 W. 4th St.
  • 777 Main Garage- 601 Commerce St.
