The Fort Worth trash collection schedules will have a slight delay because of the Christmas holiday.
On Dec. 25, there won’t be any bulk, yard trash, recycling or garbage collections.
If your pick-up day is normally Wednesday, which is Christmas this year, it will be moved to Thursday, Dec. 26. Thursday service will shift to Friday, and Friday service will happen on Saturday, according to the city.
On Thursday, bulk collections will start up again. Collections will proceed according to regular schedules on Mondays and Tuesdays.
The city said residents can leave up two additional bags of trash next to the cart for pickup on the day after Christmas. Additional bags may be picked up earlier or later from carts on the day of collection by a different truck.
If your extra bags are not picked up at the same time as your carts, the city asks that you do not call to report a missing collection.
The Environmental Collection Center at 6400 Bridge St., and the city’s four drop-off stations will be closed on Dec. 25 and reopen on Dec. 26. Those drop-off stations are at 2400 Brennan Ave., 5150 Martin Luther King Freeway, 6260 Old Hemphill Road and 301 Hillshire Drive. As always, check the city’s website for rules about who can drop off waste at the stations.
