NY Pizzeria ($), North Richland Hills

  • Where is this restaurant? 6711 Mid Cities Blvd., near Rufe Snow Drive

“All menu items are very tasty and twice a month Chef Vi has a gourmet dinner with BYOB. These dinners began with a few diners and have now become so popular that you must make a reservation. This began as a mostly take-out pizza parlor and now has become one of the best five-course reasonable dinners in town.”

  • What else to know: The restaurant shares Chef Violeta Luna’s five-course menus on social media; this week, it had crispy pork belly, butternut squash bisque, seared tuna, espresso-rubbed tenderloin and pumpkin maple bread pudding. As for the regular menu, the pizzeria says it puts a modern twist on classic Italian favorites including the pepperoni calzone, meatball sub, fettuccine alfredo and signature pizzas. The restaurant is open seven days a week, serving lunch and dinner, with takeout and delivery available. See the menu.
