‘The PIZZA!!!’ Fort Worth Italian spot’s wood-fired pies come highly recommended

Each week, we’re sharing Fort Worth-area restaurant recommendations that come from our very own Star-Telegram readers.

These aren’t necessarily well-known establishments. They are neighborhood “hidden gems,” family-run eateries that have built a loyal following among locals who’ve discovered them in Fort Worth or our suburbs.

Where is this restaurant? At 815 W. Magnolia Ave, near the Fairmount neighborhood.

What readers recommend about Cane Rosso:

“The PIZZA!!! Thin crust and either pepperoni or sausage with mushroom and a Capra stack salad are awesome. They don’t skimp on the dressing and it’s just a great salad!!! Pizza cooks in brick wood burning oven for 45-60 seconds and it’s done!. We sit at the bar facing the oven to watch the prep and cooking.

What else to know: Cane Rosso got its start in 2009 when owner Jay Jerrier launched a mobile pizza oven that quickly built a loyal following through pop-up events. In 2011, the first brick-and-mortar location opened in Deep Ellum in Dallas, and the brand has since expanded to nine spots across the DFW area. Known for Neapolitan-style pies made with fresh, house-pulled mozzarella, hand-crushed San Marzano tomatoes, and imported Italian “OO” flour, Cane Rosso also offers fresh pastas, salads, sandwiches and desserts.
