Habanero’s Fresh Mex Cantina ($-$), far north Fort Worth

Where is this restaurant? A strip center at 5601 Basswood Blvd. near Denton Highway, close to Watauga.

“The owners truly care about their customers’ dining experience, which shows in the quality of food and friendly staff. I always get a sangria swirl margarita. Sitting on their patio is beautiful, especially with the ridiculously incredible happy hour specials!”

“The Habs Fajitas are A-MAZING (marinated chicken, grilled veggies or steak-and-chicken). Both the chicken and steak are so tender and cooked to perfection. La Paz (two crispy seasoned ground beef tacos and two hand rolled cheese enchiladas topped with chili con carne) offers the best bang for your buck.”

“We have enjoyed this restaurant since we moved to Fort Worth almost 30 years ago. They have moved a couple of times but always maintained the same quality of food and service. The restaurant has a beautiful, pleasant atmosphere, and the staff treat customers like family. The food is tasty, reliable Italian. We often order pizza and salad for pick-up, but we also enjoy eating in. We enjoy many menu items, especially the tortellini bolognese.”

What else to know: This family-owned and -operated Italian restaurant has been serving Fort Worth since 1991. The Tortellini Michael Angelo and Chicken Niccola are fan favorites, but don’t forget about the meat and cheese-stuffed stromboli. See the menu.

What readers recommend about Wild Sushi & Ramen: “Small and tucked in a corner, they have the FRESHEST sushi. We have a friend from Perth, Australia, who asks to go there when she’s visiting. In other words, people from halfway around the world love it!”

What else to know: Over 50 sushi rolls, including specialties like the salmon and avocado-topped dragon roll, and various noodle dishes top the expansive Wild Sushi menu.
