‘Landman’ is returning to North Texas the week of July 7 to film in these cities
Taylor Sheridan’s “Landman” is returning to several small cities in North Texas this week to film season 2 scenes.
The Paramount+ series has been filming here since late March, including on TCU’s campus and in downtown Fort Worth. The show is also heading to Oklahoma this week to shoot scenes revolving around a casino.
Texas-based Legacy Casting recently posted a few casting calls looking for extras for filming in Cresson and Jacksboro this week.
In early April, “Landman” filmed “man camp” scenes in Cresson. Later that month, production moved to Jacksboro for filming of funeral scenes.

How to be cast in ‘Landman’
Filming in Jacksboro will double for Odessa, according to several casting notices.
Legacy is looking to cast actors as “Odessa pedestrians” for a scene shooting outside a police station. The pay is $110 for 10 hours of work on July 9. Apply here.

“Landman” is described as a “modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of West Texas oil rigs.”
The Billy Bob Thornton-led series premiered on Paramount+ in November 2024 and wrapped its 10-episode first season on Jan. 12. The drama is co-created by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, who created the “Boomtown” Texas Monthly podcast that the show is based on.
“Landman” season 1 starred Thornton, Demi Moore, Jon Hamm, Paulina Chávez, Jacob Lofland, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Colm Feore and Mark Collie. Michael Peña, Andy Garcia and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones appeared in guest roles.
