MedStar responded to 49 road incidents between 5:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. Monday, including four rollovers, Chief Transformation Officer Matt Zavadsky said.
If you’re plan to hit the road this week, MedStar recommends keeping an emergency kit in your vehicle tailored for the winter weather.
Here’s what to include:
- Ice scraper
- Shovel
- Sand or cat litter for better tire traction
- Water and snacks
- Extra warm clothing
- Jumper cables
- First aid kit with any necessary medicines and a pocketknife
- Battery-powered radio, a flashlight and extra batteries
- Emergency flares or distress flags
- Waterproof matches and a can to melt snow for water
