Fort Worth

Once again, Travel + Leisure readers say this Fort Worth hotel is best in DFW

Fort Worth once again hosts the best hotel in the Metroplex.

Hotel Drover, a boutique hotel located in the Stockyards, was voted by Travel + Leisure readers as the best city hotel for the DFW metroplex in 2025. Based on reader scores, it also ranked as the No. 3 best hotel in the state overall. Hotel Drover won this title twice before, in 2024 and in 2022. This year, it was the only Fort Worth hotel to make the DFW list.

As a part of Travel + Leisure magazine’s 2025 World Best Awards, readers cast more than 657,000 votes across 8,700 properties. Hotels were classified among resorts, city hotels, inn or safari lodge. And readers voted on rooms/facilities, location, service, food and value.

Here’s why this Fort Worth gem was voted No. 1.

Hotel Drover in Fort Worth

“Hotel Drover is the definition of Texas: friendly staff, Western decor, and a Texas [food] menu,” said a Travel and Leisure reader. “While you’re wrapped in the subtle details of Hotel Drover, they do not try and make it feel like you’re somewhere else, as most hotels do. You feel you are in the heart of Fort Worth in one of Texas’ most iconic hotels. I recommend Hotel Drover over anywhere else in the state.”

Travel and Leisure recognizes Hotel Drover as charming and luxurious. Between dark woods and textiles, guests say they feel as though they are staying at a bougie ranch.

Though its location is prime, with the ability to walk down the Stockyard’s Mule Alley or across the street into the biggest Honky Tonk in the World, the hotel also offers plenty for guests to do on site.

A Lucchese store is in the lobby and a pool bar with a backyard oasis that features live music on weekends in the summer. Veranda bar is also outdoors for guests to grab a cocktail and sit by the firepits with a view of Marine Creek. Drover is not complete without 97 West, the restaurant and bar that serves classic Tex-Mex and Texas comfort food.
