Man found in freezing cold outside a Fort Worth McDonald’s dies at hospital

An unidentified man who was found unresponsive in below-freezing weather in Fort Worth on Thursday died at a hospital, authorities said.

The man was one of 23 patients who have been transported to hospitals by MedStar for cold-related illnesses between 9 a.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday.

Authorities said the man did not have identification with him and he may have been experiencing homelessness. He was found about 12:15 p.m. behind a McDonald’s restaurant at 4101 E. Lancaster Ave.

He will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
