What’s on the menu at Hyderabad House?

The menu features Hyderabadi food, a cuisine that originated from India in the early 16th century when the Mughals ruled the country. Cooking techniques come from Persia, Central Asia and the Middle East but are primarily blended with South Indian flavors. Hyderabadi dishes include aromatic spices, marinated meats and slow-cooking techniques.

According to its website, Hyderabad House in Fort Worth is known for its biryani rice– a rice dish with vegetables, choice of protein and fragrant spices like turmeric, cumin and cardamom.

Their menu is growing as the kitchen staff and team get acclimated to the Fort Worth crowd. Their menu is extensive. Here’s a summary of the menu:

  • Naan bread, sold plain or with butter, garlic or tandoori spice
  • Chicken kebabs
  • Fried rice and noodles
  • Curries, tiki masala and butter masala with choice of chicken, shrimp, lamb or paneer (an Indian cheese).
  • Momo dumplings with veggies or chicken
  • Biryani rice is the largest part of the menu (it can serve up to six people with a bucket), and customers can choose options of curry, goat, veggie, fish, chicken, paneer and egg.
  • Nawabi dum biryanis are only sold on weekends. The difference with this and the other biryanis is the way they are cooked.
  • Pulavs are also only available on weekends. They have the same flavor options as the biryani dishes. The main difference between biryani and pulavs is the way they are cooked. With Biryani, protein and rice is cooked separately and then layered, whereas with pulavs, everything is cooked together.
