Here’s a first look at Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson’s new Texas show
Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson’s new Texas-set series has a release date.
“Brothers” began filming in Austin in March 2025 and wrapped that fall after pausing production in mid-June when showrunner David West Read exited the project due to creative differences. Shorty after Read’s departure, Lee Eisenberg came on board as showrunner.
Apple TV announced last week that “Brothers” will premiere two episodes on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
After that, the show will release weekly on Wednesdays until Nov. 4. In total, “Brothers” will have eight episodes this season.
“’Brothers’ follows McConaughey and Harrelson, who play fictionalized versions of themselves, and whose lifelong friendship is thrown into chaos when they uncover a decades-old secret: they might actually be brothers,” according to Apple TV.
‘Brothers’ premieres this fall on Apple TV
McConaughey and Harrelson’s brother connection is not the only focal point of “Brothers.”
After Harrelson’s daughter’s wedding falls apart, he loads up the family and heads to Austin for a stay on McConaughey’s Texas ranch, according to Apple TV. It’s there where McConaughey’s mother, played by Holland Taylor, accidentally reveals that the two friends might actually be brothers.
While Harrelson turns the ranch upside down for the truth, McConaughey juggles a potential run for governor of Texas.
Apple TV also released the first image from the show, which can be viewed above.
In addition to the previously mentioned cast, “Brothers” also stars includes Natalie Martinez, Brittany Ishibashi, Nolan Almeida, Ella Grace Helton, Noah Carganilla, Highdee Kuan and Oona Yaffe.
