‘The Madison’ star reveals season 2 release plans and filming dates for season 3
“The Madison” is coming back for a third season, and a key cast member is teasing when production begins.
The Michelle Pfeiffer-led Paramount+ series premiered its six-episode first season in March. The show, created by Taylor Sheridan, splits filming between Montana and North Texas, where the region stands in for New York City.
A second season is already in the can, although Paramount has yet to set a release date. Paramount confirmed a third season order in mid-April, just a month after the show premiered.
Now, series star Ben Schnetzer, who plays deputy sheriff Van Davis, says the show will begin filming season 3 in less than a year.
‘The Madison’ will film season 3 in 2027
Speaking to The Playlist, Schnetzer said filming for season 3 will begin early next year.
“I think it’s going to be the top of ’27, I think,” Schnetzer said.
Schnetzer continued that he believes the timing will coincide with the release of season 2.
“Yeah, because I think they’re kind of timing it with the rollout of when they drop season 2 and then kind of…but again, I’m that guy who’s like, ‘Until they tell me I’m…’ So, I’m just stoked we’re going to come back for season three,” he said.

“The Madison” is described as a “heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family (the Clyburns) in the Madison River valley of central Montana.”
Before premiering this spring, “The Madison” filmed its first season in 2024 and second in 2025. This was done to accommodate Kurt Russell’s schedule as he was filming “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” in 2024, and joined “The Madison” cast a year later to film scenes for both seasons.
Several Fort Worth locations appeared in season 1, including restaurants like Emilia’s, Clay Pigeon and Wicked Butcher. The Modern Art Museum also makes an appearance. The Star-Telegram put together a map of all the Fort Worth locations, which can be viewed here.
In addition to the previously mentioned cast, “The Madison” stars Patrick J. Adams, Matthew Fox, Elle Chapman, Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova, Kevin Zegers and Will Arnett.
