Paramount unveils first look at two ‘Yellowstone’ spinoffs filmed in North Texas

Paramount+ has unveiled the first look at two new shows that filmed in North Texas over the past year.

The streaming service released a video Thursday titled “This Year on Paramount” about its slate of releases in 2026. “MobLand” and “1923” star Helen Mirren narrates the 75-second teaser, which shows glimpses of several new and returning series.

Taylor Sheridan-created shows were some of the standouts, with “Landman” and “Lioness” teased as returning players, in addition to newcomers such as “Dutton Ranch” and “The Madison.”

All four shows filmed in and around the Metroplex over the past 12 months. Here’s a breakdown of the new trailer, which can be viewed below.

‘Dutton Ranch’

Only a few seconds of “Dutton Ranch” are seen in the trailer, but it’s the first footage ever released for the show.

At 30 seconds, the trailer cuts from a frame of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts to an image of Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) as Mirren says, “Will Beth and Rip make it last on the new series ‘Dutton Ranch’?”

Beth and Rip are seen riding separately on horseback across a wide open landscape in a quick shot. Both characters are smiling and wearing cowboy hats and Western garb.

“If not, Rip, call me,” Mirren says as the trailer cuts to the next show.

It’s a short glimpse, but promises the same Western feel and vibe that “Yellowstone” was known for. The teaser also finally confirmed the show’s title after months of speculation.

When the series first announced in August 2025, it carried the “Rio Palo” marker. Later that month, Deadline Hollywood revealed that the show had a new working title in “The Dutton Ranch.”

Now, the show has dropped the “the” and will now go on simply as “Dutton Ranch.”

The series follows Beth and Rip after the events of “Yellowstone” season 5, which saw them leave Dutton Ranch in Montana. Furthermore, the show is described as the couple fighting to “survive on their cherished 7,000-acre ranch amid tough times and stiff competition, while ensuring young Carter becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”

In addition to Reilly and Hauser, “Dutton Ranch” stars Finn Little, Ed Harris, Annette Bening, Jai Courteny, Marc Menchaca, Natalie Alyn Lind and Juan Pablo Raba. The show is currently filming around North Texas and has spent time in Fort Worth, Weatherford, Ferris, Rio Vista and Mineral Wells.

No release date has been set for the series beyond sometime this year.

‘The Madison’

An even shorter look at “The Madison” is shown in the teaser.

At the 56-second mark, series lead Michelle Pfeiffer is standing outside in a sun-drenched field petting a horse. And that’s it.

It’s a quick glimpse at the show that’s described as a “heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.” The show is a spinoff of “Yellowstone”; however, its connection to that series has yet to be revealed.

“The Madison” has already filmed two seasons but has not released any episodes yet.

Production on its first season ran from August to December 2024, first starting in Montana and ending in North Texas before the holidays. A similar production timeline occurred on season 2, which filmed from September to December 2025 under the same location setting.

It’s unclear if Paramount+ plans to air both seasons this year or just the initial entry, although the latter is the safe bet. Either way, no release date has been set beyond sometime this year.

In addition to Pfeiffer, “The Madison” stars Kurt Russell, Patrick J. Adams, Matthew Fox, Elle Chapman, Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova and Kevin Zegers.

While in North Texas, the show filmed in Fort Worth, Dallas and Denton.

‘Landman’ and ‘Lioness’

A few shots of “Landman” season 2 are seen in the beginning of the teaser.

The oil industry series will conclude its second season on Sunday, Jan. 18, and has been renewed for a third. The show stars Billy Bob Thornton in the titular role and is described as “a modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of West Texas oil rigs.”

It’s unclear if the third season will follow the similar trajectory as the two previous iterations, which filmed over the spring and summer of 2024 and 2025 and premiered that November.

As for “Lioness,” the action series is currently filming its third season in Fort Worth.

Production began in October 2025 and is expected to stick around until the spring. The show also filmed its second season in Cowtown from May to August 2024.

“Lioness” follows CIA operative Joe (Zoe Saldaña) as she balances her “personal and professional lives as the tip of the spear in the agency’s war on terror.”

In addition to Saldaña, “Lioness” stars Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Laysla De Oliveira, Genesis Rodriguez, Michael Kelly, Dave Annable, James Jordan, Ian Bohen, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill and Hannah Love Lanier.

No release date has been set for the new season beyond sometime this year.
