VIDEO: Tom Cruise surprises ‘Mission: Impossible’ fans at North Texas theaters

Tom Cruise was all smiles as he surprised North Texas moviegoers watching his latest action blockbuster — “Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning.”

The 62-year-old actor stopped by a pair of Dallas movie theaters on Thursday, May 22, as part of his global press tour for the film. Cruise has traveled the globe this month promoting “Final Reckoning,” which hits theaters May 23.

Cruise’s first Texas stop was in San Antonio, where he met fans checking out the film on opening day. Later in the afternoon, Cruise traveled to Dallas and stopped by Deep Ellum’s Pecan Lodge for some Texas barbecue.

His next stop, around 5 p.m., was at Cinemark Dallas XD and IMAX, where he and “Final Reckoning” director Christopher McQuarrie surprised moviegoers. Cinemark shared video of the pair at the Dallas theater. Watch it below.

Around 7:30 p.m., Cruise and McQuarrie met dozens of screaming fans at AMC NorthPark 15 in Dallas.

Cruise, dressed in a brown button-up shirt and black jeans with black boots, came out from a second story elevator at the theater and waved to fans gathered at the base of the stairs. As the cheers grew louder, Cruise rushed down the stairs to say hello and bolted back up the steps.

He then met Dallas Cowboys legend Emmitt Smith and six Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders on the middle of the red carpet for a photo.

Cruise and McQuarrie then did a few interviews with local media outlets for around 20 minutes.

After shaking a few hands and taking many a selfies, the pair walked into an awaiting elevator to go surprise more ticket holders. And just like that, as his character Ethan Hunt frequently does, Cruise disappeared in the shadows with another mission accomplished.
