TCU and UT Arlington play the first of three games at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at UTA's Clay Gould Ballpark.

The team's first meeting last week was postponed because of rain. A make-up date will be announced soon.

A couple of freshmen pitchers will make their first starts. TCU left-hander Russell Smith faces UTA right-hander David Moffat.

The Horned Frogs (4-2) won two of three against Long Beach State over the weekend. The Mavericks (3-2) won a postponed game 10-9 in 10 innings on Monday afternoon against Stephen F. Austin. Noah Vaughan, Omar Salinas and Josh Minjarez each had three hits and combined for five RBIs. Salinas drove in the winning run with a single.

Josh Watson leads the Frogs with a .429 average and three doubles and is tied with Zach Humphreys with a team-best seven RBIs.

TCU swept the series last season and has won seven of the past nine meetings. The Frogs are 27-7 against the Mavs since 2004, coach Jim Schlossnagle's first season. The schools have played every season since 1969.
