A piece of Dirk Nowitzki will move with the Golden State Warriors when they begin play at Chase Center in San Francisco next fall.

A hole in the wall of the Oracle Center visitor’s locker room is still there 12 years later. It’s been there since Nowitzki threw a chair after the eighth-seeded Warriors knocked off the top-seeded Mavericks in the first round of the 2007 payoffs.

Nowitzki signed the wall and the Warriors have set it up like a shrine, complete with a 2007 “We Believe” T-shirt and Plexiglass to protect Nowitzki’s signature. They’ll display it next fall at the Chase Center, which is being built across the bay in San Francisco.

The Warriors saluted Nowitzki during Saturday’s game and the Oracle Arena crowd gave him a standing ovation before the second quarter. The Mavs won 126-91 to earn their seventh road win of the season.

Nowitizki had a season-high 21 points in 26 minutes. The Mavs led the Warriors by 38 entering the fourth quarter. Rookie Luka Doncic recorded his sixth triple-double in the first three quarters.
