DFW high school football winners for Week 5 from North Side, Life Oak Cliff, Crowley

North Side junior Da’Wain Lofton was voted offensive player of the week in Week 5.

Lofton, who leads DFW in receiving yards, recorded nearly 300 yards of total offense and 7 TDs. He had 213 yards receiving and 5 TDs in a win over Carter-Riverside.

Lofton received 66 percent of the votes and beat out Martin QB Zach Mundell.

Mundell went 15 of 17 for 208 yards and a TD vs. Lamar. He added 123 yards rushing and 3 TDs during a 39-8 win.

Life Oak Cliff’s Emanuel Broussard was voted defensive player of the week with 8 1/2 tackles, 6 for loss and 5 sacks against Dallas Roosevelt. Crowley was voted team of the week after the Eagles beat Saginaw 49-28 in a battle of unbeatens to start the season 5-0 for the first time since 2013.
