TCU

Will a TCU football victory over Colorado be as easy as betting odds suggest?

TCU football is a massive betting favorite against Colorado on Saturday at Amon G. Carter Stadium, but that shouldn’t be a big comfort to Horned Frogs fans.

TCU was a 21-point favorite and as high as 8-1 on the money line when it lost 45-42 in 2023 in head coach Deion Sanders’ first game with the Buffaloes.

For Saturday’s game, the Horned Frogs are 13.5-point favorites and -550 on the money line at DraftKings, which implies TCU has an 84.6% chance of winning. A bet on Colorado would return +410.

The money line is a wager on who will win the game regardless of the point spread. Odds expressed with a negative number mean a bettor would have to bet that much to win $100. In this case, a bettor would have to wager $550 to win $100 on TCU. Odds expressed with a positive number reflect how much a bettor would win with a $100 wager. In this case, a $100 wager on the Buffaloes would earn a $410 profit.

TCU-Colorado total climbs

Bettors jumped on the total — the combined points scored by both teams — for TCU-Colorado after it opened at 54.5 on Sunday at Circa Sports in Las Vegas.

The total climbed as high as 59.5 at Circa before settling back to 58 on Thursday. It was at 58.5 at DraftKings and FanDuel on Thursday.

It made Circa’s list of the biggest line moves in Week 6 of college football so far.

TCU (3-1, 0-1 Big 12) is coming off a 27-24 loss at Arizona State in its conference opener. The Horned Frogs built a 17-0 first-half lead but couldn’t hang on against the Sun Devils.

Colorado (2-3, 0-2) also lost an early lead last week, going up 14-0 on BYU before eventually falling 24-21. The Buffaloes are still adjusting to life after the departure of quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Heisman Trophy-winning receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter.
