Will weather impact Fort Worth’s Fourth of July fireworks?

Cowtown is hosting its 18th annual Fort Worth’s Fourth fireworks show at Panther Island Pavilion on Friday.

The free event, which is hosted by the Tarrant Regional Water District, will go on rain or shine, a department spokesperson told the Star-Telegram on Thursday. The district is monitoring the weather and does not expect it to impact the Fourth celebration.

In the event of lightning, that could impact the celebration depending on its proximity to the pavilion, the spokesperson said. However, the NWS forecast shows that conditions will be mostly clear by the time doors open for the event at 5 p.m.

In addition to fireworks, folks can expect festival food, kid’s activities and live music. The firework shows begins at 9:30 p.m.
