Hail, strong winds possible in North Texas. See when storms arrive Wednesday
There’s a chance for strong to severe thunderstorms across North Texas on Wednesday, June 18.
A slow-moving cold front will move into the region throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. In the afternoon, isolated to scattered storms may develop ahead of the front mainly along the Red River.
More storms are expected to develop along the front, mainly along and north of Interstate 20, in the evening hours from 6 p.m. to midnight.
The main threats for any storms that develop Wednesday will be hail and damaging winds, according to the NWS. Most likely rainfall totals are between 0.25 to 1 inch in the Metroplex, with up to 1.5 inches near the Red River.
Juneteenth weather and rest of the week
Conditions are expected to be warm and sunny Thursday, with temperatures in the mid-90s for Fort Worth’s Juneteenth walk. The Juneteenth festivities will continue into weekend, with live music and a block party.
