Storms in the mix for Fort Worth ahead of sunny and rain-free weekend

North Texas will see one final round of storms to end the week.

Scattered showers and thunderstorm chances are in the mix in the morning and afternoon hours on Friday, May 2, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. The main threats with these storms will be lightning and heavy rain.

Storms will push south through the Metroplex on Friday and restrengthen through Central Texas in the late afternoon and evening hours. Large hail and damaging winds are the primary hazards with these storms, according to the NWS.

Rain-free weekend ahead

Conditions will be sunny and rain-free in the Metroplex over the weekend.

Temperatures will be in the mid-70s on Saturday, May 3, and Sunday, May 4, according to the NWS. Monday, May 5, will also be a warm and sunny day.

Storm chances return by next midweek, with rain chances in the mix on Tuesday, May 6, and Wednesday, May 7.
