Dreaming of a white Christmas in Fort Worth? Keep dreaming. Here’s how warm it will be
Christmas Day is officially seven days away, which means Dec. 25 is in the weekly National Weather Service Fort Worth forecast.
Occasionally, Fort Worth has seen snow on Christmas Day. The last couple occurrences came in 2009 and 2012, according to the NWS.
While some may be hoping for a white Christmas, that will not be the case this year, NWS meteorologist Madi Gordon said. Dec. 25 looks to be sunny and clear, with temperatures in the mid-60s.
“Pretty uncommon to get anything around Christmastime,” Gordon told the Star-Telegram.
Rain returns next week after calm weekend
After rain earlier in the week, Fort Worth looks to stay sunny and rain-free over the next few days.
Thursday, Dec. 19, will be sunny with highs in low 60s, followed by clear skies and temperatures in the mid-50s on Friday, Dec. 20, Gordon said. Calm and cool weather will continue into the weekend.
Rain chances return to the forecast late Monday, Dec. 23, Gordon said. Showers and storms are expected throughout the day on Christmas Eve, with temperatures in the mid-60s.
By Tuesday night, storms are expected to move out of the region, Gordon said.
