Howdy, folks! This year’s State Fair of Texas runs from Sept. 29-Oct.22, 2023. Here’s everything you need to know, from parking to food to all things Big Tex. Enjoy!

The State Fair of Texas is one big party for all things Texas.

The 137th running of the fair will be held from Sept. 29 to Oct. 22. The 24 consecutive days of fun are all held at Fair Park in Dallas at 3809 Grand Ave.

There are rules to what guests can and cannot bring to the fairgrounds. Here’s what we know:

What’s not allowed inside the State Fair of Texas grounds?

Leave the items below at home before heading to the fairgrounds:

  • Pets: Only service animals are allowed at the fair.
  • Bull horns, megaphones and air horns.
  • Large signs and props.
  • Selfie sticks or tripods unless credentialed through the Fair’s public relations office.
  • Drones.
  • Bicycles, skateboards or roller blades.
  • Weapons: Only those with a handgun license to carry are allowed a firearm inside the fair.
  • Alcohol.
  • Glass bottles.
  • Metal knives and forks.
