Black and pink molds, live roaches found in DFW health inspections in September
The Star-Telegram keeps track of every health inspection report for Tarrant and Dallas counties. September held some notable citations.
Reports of black and pink mold, live roaches, rodent droppings and insufficient refrigerator temperatures were all noted in various restaurants across the cities.
Here’s a complete roundup of the restaurants that received some of the lowest ratings in September.
Tarrant County
Tarrant County Public Health uses an inspection format that considers 100 as the highest possible score, with a score of 70 considered extremely poor. Restaurants scoring below 70 require a follow-up inspection.
South Hi Mount Elementary, William James Middle School, Creekview Middle School and Eaton High School — all in Fort Worth — had reports of issues with insufficient cold temperatures in their refrigeration units. Dairy and lunch meat had to be discarded due to this.
