This ATM in Fort Worth’s West 7th area dispenses tacos instead of cash

Our Uniquely Fort Worth stories celebrate what we love most about North Texas, its history & culture. Story suggestion? Editors@star-telegram.com.

If you stroll down Bledsloe Street in the West 7th Entertainment District, you may notice an ATM that doesn’t dispense cash.

It dispenses tacos.

Yes, there’s an “automated taco machine company” located at 2811 Bledsoe St. That’s the same address as the No Vacancy speakeasy, which has a green Dumpster as its door. However, the ATM and the speakeasy are not attached to each other.

The automated taco machine looks like a cash ATM. It’s a large metal window with a screen to order. When a guest orders, tacos are dispensed where one would normally grab cash.

Funky Lime Hospitality owns several of the surrounding West 7th bars, including Reservoir, The Whiskey Garden, Shot:30, Koe Wetzel’s Riot Room, Junk Punch, No Vacancy and Your Mom’s House. They are also the brains behind the taco ATM.

Here’s what to know.

What does the taco ATM serve?

Besides tacos, the automated taco machine serves elote.

Here’s exactly what’s on the menu:

  • Steak tacos
  • Chicken tacos
  • Pork tacos
  • Classic elote
  • Flaming Hot Cheetos elote
  • Takis elote
  • Bottled water

Tacos come on corn or flour tortillas with a choice of two toppings. Customers can choose from cheese, onions, cilantro, jalapenos, salsas and more. Guests can add as many toppings as they like but, anything more than two toppings costs extra.

The machine only accepts credit cards for payment.

When can I get tacos from the ATM?

The taco ATM only operates on Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 p.m. until 2:45 a.m.

Though the ATM is not an attachment of any of the Funky Lime-owned bars, it is conveniently placed next to Junk Punch, Riot Room and No Vacancy.

No Vacancy is open on Friday from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. and Saturday from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. (No Vacancy after-hours are considered to be 2 a.m. until 5 a.m. on Saturday). This club is invite-only. Guests must have a reservation and code to scan into the green Dumpster entrance that is located down the alleyway behind Koe Wetzel’s Riot Room. See here for details on how to get a reservation.

Junk Punch is open Monday to Friday from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. Koe Wetzel’s Riot Room is open Monday to Friday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m.

How to find the Automated Taco Machine

To find the automated taco machine, look for the entrance of Junk Punch on 2805 Bledsoe St., Fort Worth.

To the right is a black wall with a big box and a door. On that wall is the taco ATM with a sign above it that says “Automated Taco Machine Company.”
