Fox 4 hires Mansfield native as new meteorologist: ‘So excited to be back home’
Fox 4 has hired a North Texan as one of the station’s newest meteorologists.
Mansfield native Berkeley Taylor announced on social media this week that she’s joining the Dallas-based station. Taylor is a 2023 graduate of Texas A&M University and previously worked for KBTX-TV in Bryan.
“So excited to be back home forecasting for Dallas-Fort Worth! Not to mention I get to work with some legends!” Taylor wrote on Facebook. “See y’all on-air on FOX 4 soon.”
Former longtime Fox 4 meteorologist Evan Andrews was the first to welcome Taylor to the team in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
It was there where Andrews revealed that Taylor is undergoing training this week, but will eventually be the station’s midday and weekend morning meteorologist.
Fox 4 anchor Shannon Murray also shared well-wishes to Taylor on Facebook.
“Welcome to the team Meteorologist Berkeley Taylor! You’ll see her on air soon but for now she’s learning the ropes with Ali [Turiano] & Evan!” Murray wrote.
Taylor’s hiring comes after four staffers left the station last year.
Meteorologist Dylan Federico left in July for a news station in Miami. In early October, Andrews retired after more than 25 years at Fox 4. Anchor Hanna Battah left in late October to co-anchor “World News Now” and “Good Morning America First Look” in New York.
Finally, meteorologist Julia Fife left the station in late December. She has yet to reveal what’s next for her.
