Fort Worth’s West 7th district is about to get a new mini-golf restaurant

A new tenant is coming to the West 7th Entertainment District, and it’s not a nightclub.

2821 Morton Street was the former home of Bottled Blonde, a “boisterous bar restaurant” that closed in Dec. 2024 along with its sister concept, Backyard, which was located down the street at 3009 Morton.

The new tenant, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing, will keep the bar and kitchen, but its primary focus won’t be food or drinks.

Instead, it’ll be a miniature golf course.

Dirdie Birdie, an Austin-based mini-golf restaurant, will take over at the location.

Here’s what we know.

When will Dirdie Birdie open?

Construction for Dirdie Birdie is supposed to begin January 2026 and end in June, according to the TDLR document.

Dirdie Birdie will open by Summer 2026, according to a press release.

What is Dirdie Birdie like?

Dirdie Birdie also has a location in Austin, in The Domain. The venue there has 12 holes they describe as “art installations.” Customers can expect to putt their way through holes that have obstacles, hills, tunnels and more.

Putters can also eat and drink their way through the course with Dirdie Birdie chicken tenders, Nashville hot chicken sliders and wagyu sliders. They also have a full bar with craft cocktails like the “Strawnold Plamer” and Dirdie marg.

The West 7th Entertainment District does not have many “entertainment” options besides restaurants and bars. The only other concept that is activity-centered is Sandbox VR a block over at 2956 Crockett St.

Other putt-putt courses in Fort Worth

Dirdie Birdie will be a great addition to Fort Worth’s golf entertainment options like Top Golf and golf simulators. A new golf simulator in Alliance Town Center called X Golf is also currently in the works.

As for other mini golf options to try before Dirdie Birdie opens, here are a few in Fort Worth:

  • Hidden Valley Miniature Golf: 8621 Jacksboro Highway, Lakeside.
  • Rockwood Go-Karts & Mini Golf: 700 N. University Drive, Fort Worth.
  • Alley Cats Entertainment and Putt-Putt Golf Center: 609 N.E. Loop 820, Hurst.
  • Monster Mini Golf Keller: 1580 Keller Parkway, Keller.
