While you wait for more ‘Landman,’ see Billy Bob Thornton’s band tour Texas

Now that “Landman” has wrapped filming season 2 in Fort Worth, star Billy Bob Thornton is hitting the road with his band, The Boxmasters.

Since mid-August, Thornton and crew have played shows across Florida, New Jersey, South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina and more. The band will finish out the month in Kansas and Colorado, before traveling across the country for more shows in September.

That’s when Thornton and The Boxmasters will stop by Texas for a few nights, including a show at the famous Gruene Hall in New Braunfels. Thornton formed the group in 2006, and the band has churned out 19 albums since.

Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters’ Texas tour

The band’s first stop in Texas will be at Gruene Hall on Sept. 25.

Built in 1878, Gruene Hall is Texas’ oldest continually operating dance hall, according the venue’s website. The likes of George Strait, Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson and many more have performed at the 6,000-square-foot venue.

Tickets for the show have sold out. However, fans can still hear from Thornton and the band at an event on that same morning.

There will be a panel discussion with the band led by Mattson Rainer, general manager of KGNB/KNBT Radio New Braunfels, from 9-11 a.m. at Gruene Hall. The event will benefit the United Way of Comal County and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Hill Country flood relief efforts. Buy tickets here.
