New seasons of ‘Lioness’ and ‘The Madison’ to film in Fort Worth, says producer
New seasons of Taylor Sheridan’s “Lioness” and “The Madison” will begin production in Fort Worth this fall.
101 Studios CEO David Glasser confirmed to the Star-Telegram this week that “The Madison” season 2 will begin filming here in September, followed by “Lioness” season 3 in October. In addition, production is already underway in the region on “Yellowstone” spinoff “Rio Palo.”
Glasser mentioned the shows’ renewals when speaking about a new, 450,000-square-foot film and television production studio in north Fort Worth. The news of the two-building campus was announced this week.
While Paramount has not publicly given official word on new seasons of “Lioness” and “The Madison,” 101 Studios and Glasser are producers on both shows.
New seasons on the way for ‘Lioness’ and ‘The Madison’
After shooting “Lioness” season 1 in a few places, production on season 2 primarily took place in Fort Worth.
The series began filming in May 2024 and wrapped a few months later in August, according to previous Star-Telegram reporting. Season 2 premiered on Paramount+ in October 2024.
A spy thriller, “Lioness” follows CIA operative Joe (Zoe Saldaña) as she balances her “personal and professional lives as the tip of the spear in the agency’s war on terror.”
“The Madison” season 1 began production in Montana in August 2024 and moved south later that year.
In Texas, the series filmed across Fort Worth and Dallas over November and December 2024. The show, which has been confirmed as a “Yellowstone” spinoff, has yet to premiere.
“The Madison” has been described as a “heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.”
While it’s unclear how it connects to “Yellowstone,” “The Madison” will star Michelle Pfeiffer, Patrick J. Adams and Matthew Fox.
