Kennedale-Lake Worth game called early following fight

A fight broke out between Kennedale and Lake Worth players Friday, leading officials to end the game at Kittrell Stadium with 11:47 remaining and Kennedale leading 49-0.

Several players on the field and sidelines were involved in the scrum, which followed the first play of the fourth quarter.

Three Lake Worth players were immediately sent to the locker room by their coaches while officials engaged in a lengthy conversation that eventually led to the game ending early.

“It’s sad that we represented our communities poorly,” said Lake Worth coach Keri Timmerman.

Kennedale coach Richard Barett described the situation as “embarrassing.” He said school officials would review the video and handle discipline internally.

Key players: Kennedale running back Haden Knowles finished with 189 yards on 19 carries. Teammate Woodson finished with 70 total yards and three touchdowns.

Records: Kennedale, 7-3, 5-0 5-4A I; Lake Worth, 3-7, 2-3
