Arlington locks up 4-6A playoff berth with victory over Sam Houston

Arlington earned a playoff berth in District 4-6A with a 28-21 victory over Arlington Sam Houston on Friday night at Maverick Stadium in Arlington. The Colts forced five turnovers. Caelan Day threw touchdown passes of 63 and 35 yards to Rashad Anderson. A late interception by sophomore Kyron White helped to seal the victory.

Key players: Day threw for 236 yards and two TDs. Ronterrius Williams and Qaklon Fore rushed for 125 and 96 yards, respectively, and both scored TDs. Shawn Steele, Darien Ruffin also intercepted passes for Arlington. Owen Harris ran for 55 yards and a touchdown for the Texans. Jacob Dollar threw for 96 yards, including three passes to Deionte Smith for 45 yards.

Key Stat: The teams committed six turnovers in the first quarter.
