England coach had one complaint about Arlington setup after World Cup win

England national team coach Thomas Tuchel should’ve been nothing but smiles after his team’s 4-2 win over Croatia in the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday at AT&T Stadium.

But the Germany native did have a complaint for FIFA following the game.

Tuchel talked about moving photographers back because they blocked his view of the players during the national anthem.

“I have to tell you something. I’m begging FIFA to change the position of the photographers in the national net, because I could not see my team in the national net, and I was waiting for this moment,” Tuchel said. “It was a very, very special moment today, and I was standing in front of a wall of 50 photographers, half a meter away, and I felt this ... ruined a little bit my experience today.”

Despite that initial setback, the manger still called the experience amazing and said he’s been feeling the energy over the past couple of days.

“It is very emotional,” he said. “Listen, when I was young, and then when I was younger, even when I started coaching, this was too big to dream of this kind of a career. I’m very grateful for everyone who helped me along the way, of course, my family and friends, and also every colleague who trusted me, who supported me, [I] have never done it alone.

“This is a very, very big ask, and a great honor, and it’s very emotional, and since yesterday I felt the spirit, and what it means to be part of a World Cup is just amazing, and I felt very, very alive the last two days. I didn’t want to be anywhere else in the world.”

The decorated coach comes into the World Cup looking to end the more than 60 years of futility for the English, who won their only World Cup in 1966. England comes into the tournament No. 4 in the world rankings.
