At least fans going to Texas Rangers games won’t have to worry about 2026 FIFA World Cup traffic.
The Rangers have carefully scheduled some upcoming series around the World Cup matches taking place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, starting with the current one against the Minnesota Twins.
The Rangers played the Twins on Monday and Tuesday at Globe Life Field, but won’t play the series finale until 1:35 p.m. Thursday.
That keeps baseball out of the way of the England-Croatia World Cup match at 3 p.m. Wednesday at AT&T Stadium.
The Rangers will be out of town on a 10-game road trip during the next four World Cup matches in Arlington. But after returning home to face the Detroit Tigers on July 2, the Rangers will take the next day off to avoid a World Cup round of 32 match, then finish their series with the Tigers on July 4 and 5.
A natural Rangers off day falls on July 6, between series with the Tigers and Los Angeles Angels, clearing the path for a round of 16 match that day.
Finally, the All-Star break prevents any conflict on the last World Cup match at AT&T Stadium, the July 14 semifinal.
