Southlake Carroll quarterback named top college recruit, All Saints lineman in top 3
ESPN named Southlake Carroll 2022 quarterback Quinn Ewers the top college football recruit in the country. Tom Luginbill and Craig Haubert ranked the Top 25 prospects regardless of class.
Ewers, a 4-star QB, who’s projected to commit with Oklahoma, was also ranked as the No. 2 high school football player in the nation, according to the 2022 rankings by 247Sports.
Ewers was voted District 5-6A MVP, Star-Telegram Offensive Player of the Year and MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year after throwing for 4,003 yards and 45 touchdowns last season as the Dragons went 13-1 and finished in the state quarterfinals. He only threw three interceptions and completed 72.4% of his passes.
Ewers bumped his offers to 24 total after picking up three on Wednesday from Tennessee, Missouri and Ole Miss. He also holds offers from TCU, OU, Texas A&M, Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, Baylor, Florida, Miami and Michigan.
Five-star Fort Worth All Saints 2021 offensive tackle Tommy Brockermeyer came in at No. 3 on ESPN’s list.
Brockermeyer is the top ranked Class of 2021 player in the state, according to 247Sports, No. 4 overall in the country and is projected to commit with Texas, where his father Blake was an All-American.
He holds 25 offers, but announced his Top 5 in December which included UT, Alabama, LSU, Clemson and Auburn.
