North Crowley five-star John Meredith III reveals top three. All are SEC schools
North Crowley five-star class of 2027 cornerback John Meredith III revealed his top three schools Tuesday.
He is set to commit on Friday and will consider Alabama, Texas A&M and Texas. Meredith also commands offers from Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State — those programs made his top six. In total, he boasts more than 40 offers.
Meredith is 247Sports’ No. 1 ranked recruit in Texas and No. 1 cornerback nationwide. He isn’t guaranteed to play in Texas high school football this season, as the District 11-6A executive committee ruled him ineligible due to a transfer for athletic purposes.
He can appeal the decision to the University Interscholastic League.
Although his senior season is in jeopardy, Meredith has already established himself as a top performer in Texas. He has a 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame and earned Star-Telegram All-Area First Team honors as a junior with Euless Trinity.
North Crowley will still enter the 2026 season with a stacked defense that includes four-star cornerback Jerry Outhouse Jr., a UCLA pledge, and Arizona State pledge Elijajuan Houston, the 2025 District 3-6A MVP and 2025 Star-Telegram Defensive Player of the Year.
