The 2025 Star-Telegram All-Area Super Team is here, and it’s packed with the best players in the Fort Worth-area. See individual award recipients as well as first, second and honorable mention selections.

FIRST TEAM OFFENSE
QUARTERBACKS
DeShawn Edwards, Junior, Mansfield Lake Ridge
In a stellar turnaround year for Lake Ridge, Edwards was the driving force. He passed for 2,455 yards and rushed for 1,390 yards en route to District 3-6A Offensive Player of the Year honors and an area round appearance. The Eagles went 1-9 in 2024 and improved to 9-3 in 2025.
Gavin Beard, Senior, FW All Saints
To help the Saints complete consecutive perfect seasons, Beard stepped into the starting quarterback role and thrived. He passed for 3,759 yards, 50 TDs, and had 7 INTs. Beard completed 70% of passes on the way to TAPPS All-State Honors.
RUNNING BACKS
Carson James, Junior, FW Arlington Heights
James’ star power goes well beyond the stat sheet, and you have to see it to believe it. In a district where recruits are sometimes overlooked and undervalued, his effectiveness, toughness and strength are evident. It often takes a couple of defenders to bring him down. He rushed for 2,352 yards and had 30 total TDs to earn District 4-5A Division I MVP honors and lead Heights to its best season since 1973.
Jayshon Gibson, Senior, Richland
To further develop Richland’s reputation as a school that develops monster running backs, Gibson stole the show. To earn District 3-5A Offensive MVP honors, he rushed for 2,263 yards and 41 TDs. He added 287 yards and 5 TDs as a pass catcher. Gibson has offers from Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech, SMU and more.
WIDE RECEIVERS
Brock Boyd, Senior, Southlake Carroll
Boyd, arguably the best pass catcher in Dallas-Fort Worth, led Carroll’s star-studded receiver room with 1,478 yards and 18 TDs on 89 receptions. He earned District 4-6A Offensive Player of the Year honors and signed with Ohio State. Boyd ends his career with the Dragons as the program’s all time receiving yards leader.
Khamill Pruitt, Senior, Arlington Lamar
Pruitt was an absolute gem within the Viking offense, accumulating 1,295 yards and 14 TDs. Pruitt, a TCU signee, earned District 8-6A Offensive Player of the Year honors.
Blake Gunter, Junior, Southlake Carroll
Inside arguably the most talented receiver room in Texas, Gunter shone bright with 1,224 receiving yards and 18 TDs. He also added 138 yards and 2 TD as a runner. Gunter led the Dragons with 20 total TDs and should take on an even bigger role next season. He has offers from Pitt, UNT and more.
OFFENSIVE LINE
Tristan Dare, Junior, Southlake Carroll
Dare, a District 4-6A First Team selection and a Michigan commit, helped lead the Dragons to a Class 6A Division II state semifinal appearance with 76 knockdowns and a 93% grade. He’ll be one of the best returners in Texas next season.
Felix Ojo, Senior, Mansfield Lake Ridge
As a five-star, Ojo had a massive spotlight on his senior season. He delivered in a big way, earning District 3-6A honors while leading the Eagles to a 9-3 record. He is signed with Texas Tech.
Carey Clayton, Senior, Southlake Carroll
Clayton, an Arkansas signee, earned District 4-6A Offensive Lineman of the Year honors, leading a stacked Dragon line. He tallied 76 knockdowns and held a 94% grade, allowing 0 sacks.
John Turntine III, Senior, North Crowley
Turntine, a Texas signee, has a 6-foot-4, 270-pound frame. Rated as a four-star prospect, Turntine is one of the most respected offensive linemen not only in Texas but the entire nation.
Payton Williams, Senior, Aledo
Williams, a UTSA signee, thrived within a talented Bearcat offensive line with experience and a 305-pound frame. He held a 98% grade and picked up 34 pancakes.
TIGHT END
Jeramie Cooper, Junior, North Crowley
Cooper, a District 3-6A First Team selection, is a three-star recruit with offers from Baylor, Houston, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, SMU and more. He tallied 132 receiving yards on 8 catches – Cooper’s play went well beyond the stat sheet, as he contributed as one of the Panthers’ best blockers. He has a 6-foot-2, 235-pound frame.
UTILITY
Demarcus Belton, Senior, Alvarado
Belton posted video game numbers at Alvarado, earning unanimous district MVP honors. He tallied 1,492 rushing yards and 1,419 receiving yards, averaging an absurd 224 yards per contest. Belton had 48 TDs, setting the tone for a 12-1 season for Alvarado.
Colt Matlock, Senior, Brock
Matlock, the District 3-4A Division II MVP, is as versatile as it gets. He thrived as a receiver, defensive back and all around athlete. He led Brock to the state semifinals with 1,489 yards and 23 TDs as a receiver. As a defender, he seized 4 interceptions.
KICKER/PUNTER
Grady Matcham, Senior, L.D. Bell
Matcham was a key player in a strong season for L.D. Bell. The Blue Raiders often relied on his strong leg, especially in clutch moments, and he delivered with 6 field goals beyond 40 yards. Matcham hit field goals of 60, 53, 51 and 47 yards en route to First Team District 4-6A honors.
Pierce Ling, Senior, Arlington
Ling had 22 punts with a 40-yard average. His longest was 63 yards. He also went 30-30 on PATs and 4 for 7 on field goals with a long of 38 yards en route to District 8-6A Special Teams Player of the Year honors.
FIRST TEAM DEFENSE
DEFENSIVE LINE
Cooper Cyphers, Senior, Aledo
Cyphers, a Montana pledge, was an all around beast for an area leading defensive line. He registered 92 tackles, 32 tackles for a loss, 14.5 sacks and 36 QB hurries.
Crawford Taylor, Senior, Southlake Carroll
Taylor was extremely productive for the Dragons and was a unanimous selection to the District 4-6A First Team. He made 63 tackles and had 11 tackles for a loss. Taylor also had 11.5 sacks, 12 pressures, a fumble recovery, a punt block, and a TD.
Kingston Beyer, Junior, FW All Saints
Beyer was extremely disruptive to opposing offenses, recording 15.5 sacks and a whopping 40 tackles for a loss. He was an anchor to a defense that helped claim consecutive state titles for All Saints.
LINEBACKERS
Chase Wilburn, Senior, Aledo
Wilburn, arguably one of the best defenders in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth-area and a Towson signee, set the tone for Aledo’s defense with leadership and consistency. He had 119 tackles, 20 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks, 15 QB hurries and 9 pass breakups. Wilburn was named the District 3-5A Co-Defensive MVP.
Robbie Ladd, Senior, Southlake Carroll
Ladd played an important role for the Dragons, stuffing the stat sheet with 105 total tackles. He had 14 for a loss, 5 sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery and 4 QB hurries to become a District 4-6A First Team selection.
Mathias Martin, Senior, Crowley
Martin was the standout leader of the Eagle defense with 81 tackles and 9 tackles for a loss. He made impact plays with 2 interceptions, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble. Martin was named the District 3-6A Defensive Player of the Year in a district packed with elite defensive talent.
Braylon Williams, Junior, Arlington Lamar
Williams, a three-star recruit with offers from Michigan, Ohio State, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, SMU and more, had a very strong season with the Vikings, recording 101 tackles and 13 for a loss. He had 5 sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery, and he also rushed for 2 TDs.
DEFENSIVE BACKS
John Meredith III, Junior, Euless Trinity
Meredith, the No. 1-ranked recruit in the class of 2027 nationwide, was a standout on Trinity’s roster, delivering amidst high expectations. He was named to the District 4-6A First Team.
Chance Collins, Senior, Mansfield Timberview
Collins, a Texas Tech signee, was extremely versatile and efficient for the Wolves in a strong season. He earned District 3-5A Division II First Team honors as a safety and made the second team as a wide receiver, racking up 38.5 yards per game.
Princeton Campbell, Senior, Arlington Bowie
Campbell was an all around star for Bowie with 86 tackles, 5 interceptions, 3 fumble recoveries, a forced fumble and 7 passes defended. He was named the District 8-6A Defensive MVP.
Aaron Bradshaw, Senior, North Crowley
Bradshaw, a three star Texas Tech signee, was consistent for North Crowley, tallying 9 tackles for a loss, 4 pass breaks ups and an interception. He earned District 3-6A First Team honors.
UTILITY
Antonio Johnson, Senior FS, FW Arlington Heights
Johnson, a BYU signee, was an all-around stud for the Yellow Jackets, posting 53 tackles. His 7 interceptions makes him one of the best ball hawks in Texas. As a receiver, he tallied 413 yards and 5 TDs within a run-heavy offense.
Marcus Brouse, Senior DE/LB, Southlake Carroll
Brouse was a versatile force for Southlake Carroll, earning District 4-6A Defensive Player of the Year honors. He made 63 tackles and had 14 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks, 22 pressures, an interception returned for a TD and 2 forced fumbles.
SECOND TEAM OFFENSE
QUARTERBACKS
Holt Frazier, Junior, Brock
To lead the Eagles to the state semifinals, Frazier passed for 3,445 yards and 50 TDs with a 72% completion rate. He earned District 3-4A Division II Offensive Player of the Year honors.
Jayden Bibbs, Senior, Arlington Bowie
In another wildly successful campaign for the Bowie Vols, Bibbs stepped into the quarterback role and didn’t miss a beat. He passed for 2,826 yards and rushed for 450 yards en route to consecutive district titles.
RUNNING BACKS
Kiante Ingram, Junior, North Crowley
While sharing carries with teammate G’Yrell Smith, another extremely effective runner, Ingram tallied 1,519 yards and 22 TDs, setting the tone for the Panther run game. He averaged 6.9 yards per carry and was also voted by the Fort Worth community as the Star-Telegram Readers’ Choice Player of the Year.
Kameron Coleman, Junior, White Settlement Brewer
In a very strong season for Brewer, Coleman was the driving force. He set a school record with 1,804 yards on 272 carries. He found the end zone 19 times as a rusher and also thrived in the pass game with 133 yards and 2 TDs. Coleman earned District 3-5A First Team honors.
WIDE RECEIVERS
Aaron Brooks, Senior, Richland
Brooks was the standout pass catcher for the Royals, earning unanimous District 3-5A Division I First Team honors with a 1,114-yard season. He had 63 receptions and 10 TDs.
Antayvious Ellis, Junior, Crowley
Ellis, a Nebraska pledge, was a clear standout on Crowley’s squad as a speedy, versatile pass catcher. He posted 808 yards and 9 TDs, earning District 3-6A First Team honors.
Hudson Reasor, Senior, FW All Saints
Reasor, a Colgate signee, was a key player in the Saints’ run to the TAPPS Division II state championship. He tallied 938 yards with 18 TDs on 51 receptions. He averaged 18.4 yards per catch on the way to All State honors.
OFFENSIVE LINE
Luke Wilson, Junior, Southlake Carroll
Wilson, an Oklahoma pledge, was a force to be reckoned with for Carroll, earning District 4-6A First Team honors with a 90% grade.
Brian Merino, Senior, Richland
Paving the way for an area leading ground game, Merino held a 91% grade and posted 61 knockdowns.
Eli Holbrook, Senior, Arlington
Holbrook, an Oklahoma State signee, was dominant for the Colts with 81 knockdowns, a 90% grade, and 0 sacks allowed en route to District 8-6A First Team honors.
Ryan Campbell, Senior, Aledo
Campbell was very effective for the Bearcats with a 98% grade on blocking assignments.
Barett Bray, Junior, FW All Saints
Bray was pivotal in the Saints’ offensive dominance, registering 98 knockdowns and allowing 0 sacks.
UTILITY
Lincoln Tubbs, Senior, Aledo
Although his stats may be skewed due to sitting during blowouts and taking over as the full-time starter mid season, Tubbs was undeniably one of the best in the area. He passed for 2,062 yards and 24 TDs and was also effective on his legs, rushing for 937 yards and 11 TDs.
Parker Almanza, Senior, Byron Nelson
As one of the best pure athletes in the Fort Worth-area, Almanza stepped up in a big way for Byron Nelson, taking on quarterback duties. He was recruited to Baylor as a tight end, and played that position prior to his senior year. That didn’t stop him from passing for 2,920 yards and 33 TDs while rushing for 588 yards and 10 TDs.
TIGHT END
Skylar Kirk, Senior, Aledo
Kirk, a District 3-5A Division I First Team selection, has offers from Southwest Baptist and Lincoln. He thrived in the blocking game and also picked up 189 yards and 4 TDs for the Bearcats.
KICKER/PUNTER
Joshua Wedemeyer, Senior, Paschal
Wedemeyer was 48 for 50 on PATs – the two missed kicks were blocked. He also went 9 for 14 on field goals with a long of 45 yards. Two of the field goal misses were blocked. Wedemeyer also created opportunities for the Panthers with three onside kicks being recovered.
Gavin Strange, Senior, Southlake Carroll
Strange, a Duke pledge, hit 102 of 104 PAT attempts, bringing kicking consistency to the area’s highest scoring squad. He hit 5 of 8 field goals with a long of 42 yards. Strange continued to prove he is much more than just a kicker with 51 tackles, an interception, 7 passes defended, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble.
SECOND TEAM DEFENSE
DEFENSIVE LINE
Cameron Hall, Junior, Mansfield Summit
Hall was a one-man wrecking crew for the Jaguars, registering 18 tackles for a loss and 10 sacks en route to District 3-5A Division II Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Tymon Meeks, Senior, Aledo
Meeks was a menace within the Bearcats defensive line, making 94 tackles, 27 tackles for a loss, 10.5 sacks and 32 QB hurries. He also made a fumble recovery on the way to District 3-5A Division I First Team honors.
Caynan James, Senior, FW Arlington Heights
James posted 101 tackles, 27.5 tackles for a loss and 8.5 sacks to earn District 4-5A Division I First Team honors. His brother, junior Carter James, was just as effective with 86 tackles, 32 tackles for a loss and 11 sacks.
LINEBACKERS
Amaj Mitchell, Senior, North Crowley
Mitchell was North Crowley’s team leader in tackles (84), tackles for a loss (9), sacks (6.5) and forced fumbles (3). He also posted a fumble recovery, 9 QB hits, and 3 pass breakups to earn District 3-6A First Team honors.
Gordon Mohetau, Senior, Euless Trinity
Mohetau was a standout within Trinity’s defense, and he commanded the respect of District 4-6A coaches. He was a unanimous selection to the District 4-6A First Team.
Bryson Castile, Senior, Arlington Bowie
Castile, a Houston signee and a unanimous all district choice, had an interception, a fumble recovery and 2 forced fumbles. He was a tackle machine, registering 123 tackles, 17 tackles for a loss and 5.5 sacks.
Logan Woolard, Senior, Alvarado
Woolard, along with teammate DJ Clampitt, led one of the most producitve linebacker groups in the state. He registered 199 total tackles, 32 tackles for a loss, 10 sacks, 5 QB hurries, 2 interceptions, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble to earn District 6-4A Division I Co-Defensive MVP honors.
DEFENSIVE BACKS
Davin Hill, Senior, Mansfield Timberview
Hill, a District 3-5A Division II First Team selection at cornerback, is a Boise State signee with strong speed. His quickness shone in the kick-return game; he led the district in kick- and punt-return yards, according to coach Jacody Coleman.
Jerry Outhouse Jr., Junior, North Crowley
Outhouse played a big role in a star-studded North Crowley defense, registering 35 tackles, a forced fumble, 9 pass breakups, 2 interceptions and a TD.
Sergio Mata, Junior, Joshua
Mata was a clear leader within the Owl defense, and the stats show it. He made 107 tackles and 13 tackles for a loss. He also had 3 sacks and an interception.
Will Lemonds, Junior, Arlington Oakridge
When it comes to SPC football, Lemonds proved he is a level above the rest. He hauled in 8 interceptions to help lead the Oakridge Owls to an undefeated season and state title.
UTILITY
Parker Harris, Senior DB/RB, Southlake Carroll
Harris thrived in all facets and stepped up his game in a big way in the Dragons’ postseason run to the state semifinals. He made 72 tackles and had big impact plays with 3 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries. Harris tallied 134 yards as a rusher, 245 yards on kick return and had 7 total TDs.
Mahamadou Siby, Senior WR/DB, Byron Nelson
Siby, a three-star Wake Forest signee, was a key contributor for Byron Nelson, racking up 58.3 receiving yards per game and also seizing 2 interceptions. He earned District 4-6A Utility Player of the Year recognition.
Newcomer of the Year
Brett Kates, Soph. QB, Richland
After an All-Area caliber season for Drew Kates, his brother, Brett Kates, stepped in and posted some eye-popping numbers. He passed for 2,732 yards and 24 TDs while rushing for 582 yards and 8 scores to earn District 3-5A Offensive Newcomer of the Year honors.
