TCU

Which prospects helped TCU rank as the No. 1 recruiting class in the Big 12?

Early National Signing Day was a productive one for TCU as the Horned Frogs signed the No. 1 class in the Big 12 and the highest ranked class in program history.

Sonny Dykes signed 29 players on Wednesday, avoiding any last second flips. The class ranks No. 22 nationally and features six four-star prospects, including five from the state of Texas. Most of the signees will have a chance to make an early impact as over half of the class will be early enrollees and arrive in Fort Worth in January.

“This was a big day for TCU football today,” Dykes said. “We’ve got our entire recruiting class signed, 29 signees. 20 of which will be here in January and enroll early. The fact that 20 of the 29 will be here enrolled in school in January allows those guys to get off to a fast start. It’s a big deal.

“This is a culmination of a lot of work. A number of these players we’ve been recruiting for three years now, some of these guys we targeted very early when we got hired here at TCU. We’ve watched these guys grow and progress, we’re fortunate to get them signed today. We’re excited about the group.”

The standouts among the class include four-star edge rusher Chad Woodfork, four-star receiver Terry Shelton from Ranchview Carrollton and TCU legacy Adam Schobel, a four-star quarterback from Columbus, Texas.
