TCU product Jalen Reagor flashes home run ability in NFL debut with Eagles

Jalen Reagor wasn’t expected to play in the Philadelphia Eagles season opener after injuring his shoulder during a training camp practice in late August.

But Reagor recovered faster than expected and made his presence felt early in the Eagles’ 27-17 loss at the Washington Football Team to open the 2020 season on Sunday afternoon.

Reagor’s first catch went for 55 yards as he beat Washington cornerback Ronald Darby and hauled in a deep ball thrown by Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz. The play came on a third-and-22 and set up a field goal drive by the Eagles in the first quarter.

That made up for a forgettable first play by Reagor when he muffed a punt that the Eagles recovered.

The 55-yard completion was Reagor’s only reception of the day. He was targeted four times on the day, including another deep pass late in the first half in which he and Wentz were just a little off. Reagor was also credited with a tackle on an interception thrown by Wentz.

The Eagles jumped out to a 17-0 lead before surrendering 27 unanswered to Washington.
