TCU product Jalen Reagor to miss Eagles’ season opener, possibly more games
Jalen Reagor’s NFL career will be delayed because of a shoulder injury he sustained Sunday.
The TCU product is sidelined at least a couple of weeks, a source said, including the Philadelphia Eagles’ opener against the Washington Football Team on Sept. 13. It’s unclear if he’ll be ready for the Week 2 game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sept. 20.
Reagor will not require surgery, the source said, but was diagnosed with a small tear in his labrum.
The Eagles drafted Reagor with the 21st overall pick in the NFL Draft. He impressed early on in camp and was in line to become a Day 1 starter at receiver and returner.
Reagor had a stellar college career, finishing three seasons at TCU with 2,248 yards receiving, 22 touchdowns and 148 receptions, highlighted by a 1,000-yard season as a sophomore in 2018. Reagor also rushed for 324 yards and two TDs in his career.
His 22 career receiving TD receptions are tied for second-most in TCU history, trailing only Josh Doctson (29).
Reagor led the team with 611 yards receiving and five touchdowns on 43 receptions in 2019. He was a standout returner, being named to three All-America teams after ranking second nationally with a 20.8-yard punt return average.
