Triple digits are on the horizon for North Texas.

Before things heat up later in the week, low storm chances are in the mix for late Monday, June 22, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. Gusty winds and heavy rain are the main threats with this activity.

Storm chances will continue through early Tuesday, June 23, and wrap up by the afternoon. Clear skies are in the forecast for the next few days as temperatures kick around the upper 90s.

The NWS is forecasting a high of 100 degrees on Saturday, June 27, and 102 degrees on Sunday, June 28.

This would be the first time North Texas has recorded 100 degrees this year, which would be about a month earlier than last year. On average, the region sees its first 100-degree day on July 1.
