Rain, warm temperatures in store for North Texas over Memorial Day weekend

Daily rain chances and warm temperatures are in store for North Texas over Memorial Day weekend.

Skies will be sunny and rain-free on Friday, May 22, with highs in the mid-80s, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. There’s a 70% chance of precipitation overnight between 1 and 4 a.m. Saturday, May 23.

Showers and possible thunderstorms will continue throughout Saturday as temperatures stick around the low 80s. Rain chances (40%) will stick around overnight Saturday into early Sunday, May 24.

Sunday will have a lower chance of storms (30%) with highs in the low 80s, according to the NWS. Similar rain chances will persist overnight into Monday, May 25, and continue through much of the day.

The NWS says the severe weather threat will be low this weekend, however, a few storms may become strong enough to produce hail and gusty winds. Whether folks are at barbecues or on the lake, the NWS recommends they stay weather-aware.

  • Friday, May 22- 85 degrees, 70% chance of rain overnight
  • Saturday, May 23- 83 degrees, 70% chance of rain during the day and 40% overnight
  • Sunday, May 24- 83 degrees, 30% chance of rain during the day and overnight
  • Monday, May 25- 84 degrees, 30% chance of rain during the day and 20% overnight
  • Tuesday, May 26- 86 degrees, 30% chance of rain during the day and 60% overnight
  • Wednesday, May 27- 82 degrees, 70% chance of rain during the day and 50% overnight
  • Thursday, May 28- 86 degrees, 30% chance of rain during the day
