Many North Texans woke up to stormy weather early Thursday, April 24, which will continue for much of the day.

Due to storms moving slowly across the region Thursday, there’s a threat for minor street flooding, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. With that, the NWS is asking drivers to use caution and remember to “turn around, don’t drown.”

The severe weather threat with these storms remain low, however, the NWS said isolated strong to severe wind gusts can not be ruled out. As of around 11 a.m., storms remain sub-severe but could contain small hail and gusty winds.

Additional strong to severe storms could develop throughout the day, and if so, the main threats will be hail and damaging winds, according to the NWS.
