Hail, severe storms possible in Fort Worth over Easter weekend. Here’s the latest
Multiple rounds of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are in the mix for North Texas over Easter weekend.
A few light showers are possible in northwestern parts of the region (west of Gainesville) in the afternoon hours on Friday, April 18, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. By late Friday, thunderstorm chances will begin in the same area and spread into the Interstate 35 corridor overnight and into early Saturday, April 19.
Some of these storms could be severe, with hail and damaging winds as the primary threats.
On and off rain chances will persist throughout Saturday, followed by widespread thunderstorm development that night, according to the NWS. Storms are expected to move across most of region overnight Saturday and into Sunday, April 20.

Rainfall totals and a peek into next week
Most of the Metroplex will see half an inch to an inch of total rainfall over the weekend.
Areas near or north of Interstate 20 could experience flash flooding as isolated rainfall amounts between 3 to 4 inches are possible, according to the NWS. By Sunday morning, most of the storm activity will exit the region to the east.
Heading into next week, conditions look to be sunny and warm on Monday, April 21.
Low rain chances (30%) return to the forecast on Tuesday, April 22, followed by subsequent chances for showers on Wednesday, April 23, and Thursday, April 24. Temperatures next week are expected to be in the low 80s.
