Will liquor stores close because of snow in North Texas? Here’s what to expect
It is very rare for liquor stores to be closed, unless it’s a Sunday or select holiday.
This week, snow is no exception for Fort Worth liquor stores. The Star-Telegram confirmed with five local stores that they plan to be open despite the winter storm Fort Worth will experience Wednesday, Jan. 8 through Friday, Jan. 10.
Reports predict snow and ice in North Texas by Thursday, Jan. 9, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. A winter storm warning is expected to stay in effect until the storm arrives.
So if you plan on enjoying a cocktail while avoiding the freezing temperatures, you don’t need to rush out of the house now — the stores will be open.

What are liquor store hours during the North Texas snow?
According to the Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission, state laws says liquor can only be sold at liquor stores from Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The following Fort Worth liquor stores confirmed they will be open:
- Spec’s: 2750 S Hulen St, Fort Worth.
- Total Wine: 5200 S Hulen St, Fort Worth.
- King’s Liquor: 2810 W Berry St, Fort Worth.
- Bluebonnet Liquor: 3510 Blue Bonnet Cir, Fort Worth.
- Liquor Depot: 5700 McCart Ave, Fort Worth
